The late Stone age

The remains of a late Neolithic settlement in Nin were excavated along the southern edge of the salt pans. Accumulated in a cultural layer up to 60 cm, they contained a variety of stone objects: small knives, arrows, drills, grinds, and fragments of earthern vessels, animal bones, shells, etc. This single layer settlement had the characteristic of the Impresso ceramics culture which was spread throughout the Mediterranean.
